Basketball Recap: Noblesville Takes a Loss

Noblesville was the 61-57 winner over Brownsburg when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Noblesville Millers fell just short of the Brownsburg Bulldogs by a score of 48-45 on Friday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Millers came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 11th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 60th).

Brownsburg got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jesiah Sloss out in front who went 6-for-10 to rack up 16 points and six rebounds. Brownsburg is undefeated when Sloss posts 15 or more points, but 4-10 otherwise. Branden Sharpe was another key player, putting up ten points and eight steals.

Noblesville's defeat dropped their record down to 15-5. As for Brownsburg, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-10 record this season.

Looking ahead, Noblesville will square off against Avon at 7:30 p.m. on February 21st. As for Brownsburg, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 70-63 loss against Crown Point on the 15th.
