Football Game Preview: Newport Grizzlies vs. Adna Pirates + Official Tickets

The Newport Grizzlies will take on the Adna Pirates on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Newport is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Rainier 56-6. With the Grizzlies ahead 49-0 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Kutter Driver had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 148 yards and three TDs on only eight carries. Driver is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 128 every time he's taken the field this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Bradley Martin, who rushed for 40 yards and one score.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Newport was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 279 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Rainier only rushed for 77.

Newport didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. Jacob Reimers led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by himself.

Meanwhile, Adna waltzed into their matchup on Friday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. They blew past Kittitas/Thorp 36-15. Adna's victory was all the more impressive since Kittitas/Thorp were averaging only 11 points allowed on the season.

Newport's record is now 10-0. As for Adna, their record now sits at 9-2.
