Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Avery Patrick and Ally O'guinn Lead Bloomington North to Victory

Bloomington North won the last time they faced Southport and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Cougars came out on top against the Cardinals by a score of 3-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Cougars.

Bloomington North walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the third set). Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 27-25, 23-25, 25-12, 25-20.

Leading Bloomington North to victory were Ally O'Guinn and Avery Patrick. O'Guinn had 22 digs and four aces, while Patrick had 11 digs. That's the most digs Patrick has posted over her last eight contests.

They weren't the only good servers: Bloomington North was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 13 aces. They served three more aces than Southport's also-impressive total of ten.

Despite the defeat, Southport saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Lily Boone had 26 digs and one assist. Boone is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in each of the last 15 games she's played.

Bloomington North's victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 8-17. As for Southport, their loss ended a three-match streak of away wins and brought them to 14-12.

Bloomington North wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Northview on the 11th. As for Southport, they have also already played their next match, a 3-1 loss against Greenwood on the 9th.
