Basketball Recap: Westwood Comes Up Short

Westwood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 40-34 heartbreaker at the hands of the Skyline Coyotes. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Warriors of the 59-51 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2024.

Skyline was led to victory by Jordan Seiuli and Kaylee Cole. Seiuli dropped a double-double on 17 points and 15 rebounds, while Cole dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten boards. Seiuli is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down nine or more in the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Isabella Schneider, who posted seven points and six boards.

Westwood's defeat dropped their record down to 2-16. As for Skyline, their win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 10-8.

Westwood will head out to face off against Red Mountain at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Red Mountain is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52 points per game this season. Skyline has already played their next matchup (against Dobson), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
