King Academy extended their winning streak to ten on Friday, bumping them up to 10-0. They blew past the Laurens Academy Crusaders 44-22. The result was nothing new for the Knights, who have now won eight matchups by 20 points or more so far this season.

King Academy was led to victory by Joseph Morse and Elijah Hutto. Morse gained 200 total yards and three touchdowns, while Hutto threw for 164 yards and three touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes. Morse showed off some serious burst, lighting up the secondary with a catch for 54 yards.

King Academy was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 254 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 191 rushing yards in three consecutive contests.

As for Laurens Academy, the defeat snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 8-2 record. The game marked their lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Laurens Academy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ethan Collins, who threw for 175 yards and a pair of TDs, and also rushed for 71 yards on only eight carries. 88 of Collins' passing yards were hauled in by Elijah Hornberger, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

King Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Laurens Academy, they will square off against Cross at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Crusaders will be up against the Stingrays' rather soft defense (which has allowed 45.7 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
