Basketball Recap: Word of God Academy Piles Up the Points Against Ascension Classical

The Word of God Academy Force blew past the Ascension Classical Admiral, posting a 56-15 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Force.

Word of God Academy had a senior duo take command as Brynn Jordan dropped a double-double with 25 points and 14 rebounds and Tina Guardado almost dropped a double-double with 17 points and nine boards. Jordan is crushing it when it comes to rebounds: she's pulled down at least ten every time she's taken the court this season. Jenesis Williams was another key player, putting up six points and six boards.

Word of God Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 13 offensive boards every time they've taken the court this season.

Ascension Classical lost on Tuesday despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Kirsten Kay, who posted seven points in addition to six steals and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kylie Kay, who put up three points and six boards.

Word of God Academy now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Ascension Classical, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.

Word of God Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 73-9 loss against Riverdale Academy on the 6th. As for Ascension Classical, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 27-16 defeat against Brighton on the 5th.
