Basketball Recap: Hughes Takes a Loss

Hughes was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were dealt a 53-21 loss at the hands of the Perry County Vikings. The Lions were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 33-11.

Kaylee Byrd was her usual excellent self, going 6 for 10 from beyond the arc on her way to 20 points and three steals for Perry County. Bell Warren was another key player, going 5 of 7 en route to 10 points and six boards.

Hughes' defeat dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Perry County, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-9.

Hughes wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 44-39 win against Mt. Pleasant on the 25th. As for Perry County, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 47-27 loss against Summertown on the 28th.
