Basketball Game Preview: Open Door Christian Patriots vs. Lake Center Christian Tiger

The Open Door Christian Patriots will challenge the Lake Center Christian Tiger at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Open Door Christian is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Lincoln West, posting an 80-50 victory. The win was some much needed relief for the Patriots as it spelled an end to their eight-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, Lake Center Christian didn't have too much trouble with Medina Christian Academy on Friday as they won 62-47. Given the Tiger's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 294th, while the Knights are ranked 681st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Open Door Christian's victory ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-11. As for Lake Center Christian, their win bumped their record up to 10-4.

Open Door Christian couldn't quite finish off Lake Center Christian in their previous matchup back in March of 2024 and fell 47-44. Can Open Door Christian avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
