Baseball Recap: Santa Fe Starts Season with Win Against Dunnellon

Santa Fe gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They skirted past the Dunnellon Tigers 2-1. That's more bragging rights for the Raiders, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Brody Rou looked comfortable as he pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (three).

On the hitting side, Santa Fe saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Caleb Kietzman, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Santa Fe will square off against Vanguard at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Dunnellon, they will challenge North Marion at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
