Parker hasn't had much luck against Yuma Catholic recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Parker Broncs will challenge the Yuma Catholic Shamrocks at 3:45 p.m. Parker is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.
Parker had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the eight-run drubbing they dealt Kingman Academy on Monday. Parker was the clear victors by an 11-3 margin over Kingman Academy. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
The team relied heavily on Oscar Ortega, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Marcus Jimenez, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4.
Parker was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .387. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Kingman Academy only posted a batting average of .231.
Meanwhile, Yuma Catholic is still undefeated this season after their game against Estrella Foothills on Friday, but Estrella Foothills came as close as anyone has to beating them. Yuma Catholic came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 5-4 W against Estrella Foothills.
Erik Topete was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2. Joey Carey was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.
The victory got Parker back to even at 3-3. As for Yuma Catholic, they pushed their record up to 9-0 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.
Tuesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Parker hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .320. However, it's not like Yuma Catholic struggles in that department as they've averaged .381. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Parker might still be hurting after the 10-0 defeat they got from Yuma Catholic in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can Parker avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
