Volleyball Recap: Florin Comes Up Short

Florin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 3-1 to the Armijo Royals. If the Panthers were looking for revenge after losing 3-1 to the Royals when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

While Florin ultimately came up short, they really made Armijo work, particularly in the third set. The final score came out to 25-22, 20-25, 26-24, 25-20.

Lovely Thao paced Florin's offense, picking up five kills. Thao got some help from Clairedy Lo and her five assists. Finally, Diane Iakopo kept Florin's defense grounded, leading the team with four blocks.

Florin's loss dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Armijo, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-2.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Florin is set to square off against their familiar foe Foothill at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Armijo will take on rival West Campus at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
