Baseball Recap: Pioneer Comes Up Short

Pioneer's tournament run continued when they took on Clemens on Saturday. The Pioneer Diamondbacks lost 16-2 to the Clemens Buffaloes. The contest marked the Diamondbacks' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Pioneer saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Samuel Quintanilla, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI. Quintanilla also got a hit, marking his first of the season.

Pioneer dropped their record down to 3-4 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Clemens, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-2.

Looking ahead, Pioneer will head out on the road to face off against Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Memorial at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Clemens, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Steele at 7:00 p.m.
