Volleyball Recap: North Central Triumphs

North Central hadn't done well against Faulkton recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Thunder sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over the Trojans. For the Thunder, this counts as revenge for the 3-1 win the Trojans walked away with the last time they faced one another back in November of 2024.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day North Central got the one that really mattered. The match finished with set scores of 26-24, 26-28, 25-13, 21-25, 15-9.

Amree VanderVorst paced North Central's offense, picking up 21 kills. VanderVorst got some help from Camryn Witlock and her 35 assists.

The victory made it two in a row for North Central and bumps their season record up to 5-1. As for Faulkton, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Looking ahead, North Central will face off against McLaughlin at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Faulkton, they will take on Hitchcock-Tulare at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
