Basketball Recap: Oak Hill's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Oak Hill had won two straight games and Jace Tonagel did his part to make it three on Friday. The Oak Hill Golden Eagles secured a 61-55 W over the Frankton Eagles thanks in part to Tonagel, who went 7 of 11 on his way to 22 points in addition to seven assists and four steals. His evening made it seven games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Lawson, who posted ten points. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points.

Frankton's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brady Carmack, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten boards. Carmack is crushing it when it comes to rebounds: he's pulled down at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Trey Bennett, who had 12 points and five rebounds.

Oak Hill has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.2 points per game. As for Frankton, their loss was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-3.

Oak Hill will be taking part in a tournament against Eastbrook at 12:00 p.m. on December 28th. Oak Hill is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.9 points per game this season. As for Frankton, they will venture away from home to challenge Wapahani at 7:30 p.m. on December 27th. One thing working in Wapahani's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five contests.
