Football Recap: Beaver Piles Up the Points Against Deer Lakes + How To Watch

Beaver won the last time they faced Deer Lakes and things went their way on Friday too. The Bobcats really took it to the Lancers for the full four quarters, racking up a 45-7 win. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Bobcats' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 170th, while the Lancers are ranked 422nd).

Beaver's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Avery Scales led the charge by rushing for 90 yards and one TD on only nine carries. Those 90 rushing yards gave Scales a new career-high. Micah Pupi also helped with two touchdowns in total.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Beaver was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 275 rushing yards. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their rushing yard total in four consecutive contests.

Another reason for the win was Beaver's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. Jonah Justice refused to say out of the backfield, picking up 1.5 sacks all by himself. Pupi got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Beaver now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Deer Lakes, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

Beaver has already played their next game, a 49-42 loss against North Catholic on the 10th. As for Deer Lakes, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 56-14 defeat against Imani Christian Academy on the 10th.
