Football Game Preview: Amity Warriors vs. Dayton Pirates

Amity and Dayton are an even 5-5 against one another since October of 2015, but not for long. The Warriors will head out to take on the Pirates at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Amity took a loss when they played away from home last Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They came out on top against Salem Academy by a score of 36-26.

Meanwhile, Dayton put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Blanchet Catholic, posting a 58-12 win. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Pirates' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Oregon football rankings (they are ranked 43rd, while the Cavaliers are ranked 141st).

Dayton didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Ryan Mullins and Brody Douthit.

Dayton's victory bumped their record up to 8-0. As for Amity, their win bumped their record up to 3-5.

Amity ended up a good deal behind Dayton when the teams last played back in November of 2024, losing 16-0. Can the Warriors avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
