Volleyball Recap: Cypress Lake Takes a Loss

After flying high against Dunbar on Wednesday, Cypress Lake came back down to earth. The Panthers came up short against the Southwest Florida Christian King on Monday, falling 3-0. If the Panthers were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the King's when the teams met back in September of 2022, then they'll just have to keep looking.

While Cypress Lake was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Southwest Florida Christian's winning margin in every set. The final score came out to 25-17, 25-18, 28-26.

Avery Gulatta paced Cypress Lake's offense, picking up ten kills. Gulatta got some help from Lilly Witz and her ten assists. Gulatta was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

Cypress Lake's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Southwest Florida Christian, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-2.

Cypress Lake didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-2 victory against Mariner on the 28th. As for Southwest Florida Christian, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Bonita Springs on the 26th.
