Springfield faced Perrysburg in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Blue Devils walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Yellow Jackets. The win was nothing new for the Blue Devils as they're now sitting on 11 straight.

While Springfield might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Perrysburg scored at least 18 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-20, 21-25, 25-18.

Andrew Cerrone paced Springfield's offense, picking up ten kills. Cerrone were helped by Reed Schwieterman and Lorence Sayco, who contributed 14 assists each. Sayco was also solid from the service line: he led the team with three aces.

Springfield's victory was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-1. As for Perrysburg, their defeat was their first of the season and also makes their record 11-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Springfield will venture away from home to square off against Scott at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Blue Devils are facing the Bulldogs at the right time seeing as the Bulldogs are stuck on a nine-game losing streak. As for Perrysburg, they will head out to take on HEA Firebirds HomeSchool at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
