Basketball Recap: R-S Central Takes a Loss

R-S Central suffered their closest defeat since December 30, 2024 on Friday. They fell just short of the East Rutherford Cavaliers by a score of 69-67. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Tuesday (58), the Hilltoppers still had to take the loss.

East Rutherford's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Eli Roof, who went 7 of 13 to rack up 16 points. The dominant performance gave Roof a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Maliek Logan, who posted 13 points.

R-S Central's loss dropped their record down to 12-9. As for East Rutherford, their victory bumped their record up to 6-17.

The future could be bright for both R-S Central and East Rutherford: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. R-S Central will try to hand Chase their 16th-straight defeat when the two meet at 7:30 p.m. on February 14th. Meanwhile, East Rutherford will look to extend Polk County's five-game losing streak when the meet at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
