Jones has gone a perfect 10-0 against Chicago Washington recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Eagles will be playing in front of their home fans against the Patriots at 4:30 p.m.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Jones and Brooks meet (six straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Thursday. Jones took an 8-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of Brooks.

Gio Delgado was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out six batters over 5.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. He also tossed two walks, marking his first of the season.

On the hitting side, Ellis Alexander was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing four bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 1.1 stolen bases per game. Another player making a difference was Madden Asbaty, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one RBI.

Meanwhile, Chicago Washington hadn't done well against Simeon recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Patriots skirted past the Wolverines 4-2. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Patriots.

Justin Soto was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. Richard Diaz was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one triple and one run.

Chicago Washington pushed their record up to 5-6 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Jones, their loss dropped their record down to 6-4.

Jones took their victory against Chicago Washington in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 9-2 score. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Patriots have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
