Basketball Game Preview: River Islands Riptide vs. Turlock Christian Eagles

The River Islands Riptide are taking a road trip to face off against the Turlock Christian Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Turlock Christian will challenge a team with plenty of momentum: River Islands extended their winning streak to three on Wednesday. The Riptide came within five points of losing the streak, but they secured a 58-53 W against Aspire Langston Hughes Academy.

Meanwhile, Turlock Christian sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 69-66 victory over Ben Holt College Prep Academy on Tuesday.

Turlock Christian's win came from a few key players that River Islands will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Michael Miller, who posted 25 points. The contest was his ninth in a row with at least 16 points. Tyler Nydam was another key player, dropping a double-double with 16 points and 18 rebounds.

River Islands' win bumped their record up to 8-10. As for Turlock Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 10-8.

Everything went River Islands' way against Turlock Christian in their previous matchup back in January of 2025, as River Islands made off with a 73-49 win. In that game, the Riptide amassed a halftime lead of 43-23, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
