The Barbe Buccaneers will venture away from home to take on the Northwood Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Barbe knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 31 points or more in their past five games -- so hopefully Northwood likes a good challenge.
On Friday, Barbe earned a 64-55 victory over Sam Houston. The Buccaneers pushed the score to 56-35 by the end of the third, a deficit the Broncos cut but never quite recovered from.

Barbe's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jelandon Gray, who rushed for 70 yards and one touchdown, and also threw for 117 yards and one TD on only ten passes. The Buccaneers also got help from Myles Ledoux, who showed off his sure hands for 91 receiving yards.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Barbe was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 397 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 150 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.
Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, Northwood's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They and Loyola College Prep were almost perfectly matched up, but the Falcons suffered a 28-27 loss.
Defeat or not, Northwood got some senior leadership from John Sneed and Kyran Johnson. Sneed gained 150 total yards and three touchdowns, while Johnson gained 224 total yards and a touchdown. Sneed also set a new season-high mark in rushing yards with 143.
Even if they lost, Northwood's defense still kept up the pressure with three sacks. Devin McKenna was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two himself.
Barbe's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-5. Those home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.0 points over those games. As for Northwood, their loss dropped their record down to 8-2.
Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. Barbe has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 279 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Northwood struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 245.1 rushing yards.
