Basketball Game Preview: Selkirk Rangers vs. Curlew Cougars

Selkirk hasn't had much luck against Curlew recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Selkirk Rangers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Curlew Cougars at 7:00 p.m.

Selkirk is headed into Tuesday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Saturday. They were beaten by Northport 83-38. While losing is never fun, the Rangers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 278th, while the Mustangs are ranked 132nd).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Curlew). They were the clear victor by a 77-52 margin over Columbia on Saturday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cougars.

Curlew's victory bumped their record up to 3-12. As for Selkirk, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-10.

Selkirk didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Curlew in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, but they still walked away with a 49-44 win. Does Selkirk have another victory up their sleeve, or will Curlew turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
