Football Game Preview: Hattiesburg Tigers vs. Forest Hill Patriots + How To Watch

The Hattiesburg Tigers will head out to square off against the Forest Hill Patriots at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Hattiesburg has three straight victories, Forest Hill has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Hattiesburg's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They blew past Jim Hill 43-0. That looming 43-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Hattiesburg yet this season.

A big part of Hattiesburg's win came down to the chemistry between Gavin Ducksworth and his top target Davion Young. Ducksworth threw for 209 yards and five touchdowns on only 16 passes while Young picked up 145 receiving yards and three scores. Young's longest reception was for an impressive 65 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per catch total.

Meanwhile, Forest Hill lost to Terry at home by a 24-6 margin on Friday. While the Patriots had to settle for second, they closed the game well in the third quarter, where they outscored the Bulldogs 6-0.

Forest Hill's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Hattiesburg, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.

Everything came up roses for Hattiesburg against Forest Hill when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 50-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
