After both having extra time off, the Notre Dame Academy Tritons and the Neenah Rockets will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
Last Saturday, Notre Dame Academy came up short against Indian Trail and fell 2-0.
Notre Dame Academy was the model of consistency in the loss, scoring 19 points in every single set they played. The final score came out to 25-19, 25-19.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Neenah, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They won by a set and slipped past Appleton East 3-2. The Rockets haven't had any issues with the Patriots recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.
Neenah was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 21-25, 21-25, 26-24, 15-12.
Notre Dame Academy better focus on containing Levi Steckling and Colton Kreger as the pair were huge in Neenah's win. Steckling had 16 digs and three assists, while Kreger had eight digs and one assist. That's the most digs Kreger has posted over his last five matches.
Notre Dame Academy has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-7 record this season. As for Neenah, their win bumped their record up to 7-9.
Notre Dame Academy came out on top in a nail-biter against Neenah when the teams last played back in September of 2023, sneaking past 3-2. Do the Tritons have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Rockets turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
