Baseball Recap: Pleasant Valley Gets the Win

Pleasant Valley lost to Bethlehem Catholic back in April of 2025, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Monday. The Bears came out on top against the Golden Hawks by a score of 10-5.

Ty Borger was a major factor no matter where he played. He pitched six innings while giving up five earned runs off seven hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in May of 2025.

In other batting news, Gavin Bates was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Owen Walters, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Pleasant Valley lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Pleasant Valley's victory bumped their record up to 5-8. As for Bethlehem Catholic, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-11-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pleasant Valley will face off against East Stroudsburg North at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Timberwolves have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.09 runs per game on average), something the Bears will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Bethlehem Catholic, they will challenge Liberty at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Hurricanes will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Golden Hawks surely won't give up without a fight.
