Football Recap: Rolling Meadows Takes a Loss

Rolling Meadows lost against Schaumburg two weeks ago, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Mustangs took a 20-12 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Saxons. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois football rankings (they are ranked 43rd, while the Saxons are ranked fourth).

This is the second loss in a row for Rolling Meadows and nudges their season record down to 4-4. Those defeats can't be blamed on the team's defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 27 points in those games. As for Schaumburg, they pushed their record up to 7-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Rolling Meadows is set to face off against their familiar foe Palatine at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Schaumburg will square off against rival Bartlett at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
