Baseball Recap: West Ranch Triumphs

West Ranch proved they can win big last Wednesday (they won by 14) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They won by a run and slipped past the Harvard-Westlake Wolverines 8-7.

The team relied heavily on Omar Gutierrez, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. Landon Hu was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

West Ranch's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Harvard-Westlake, their loss ended a 15-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West Ranch will venture away from home to challenge Buchanan at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Harvard-Westlake, they will head out to face off against Oaks Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
