Volleyball Recap: Make It Five in a Row for St. Henry

St. Henry had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They put the hurt on the Cincinnati Christian Cougars with a sharp 3-0 victory on Wednesday. Winning may never get old, but the Redskins sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

St. Henry's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Morgan Baumer led the charge by getting 24 digs and five aces. Baumer has been hot for a while, having posted ten or more digs the last 11 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Gast, who had three digs and three aces.

They weren't the only good servers: St. Henry was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 11 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in eight consecutive matches.

Anna-Kate Young and Lydia Vogelgesang certainly did their best on Wednesday to avoid the loss. Young had 13 digs, while Vogelgesang had six digs.

St. Henry's win bumped their record up to 21-5. As for Cincinnati Christian, with the defeat, they broke their three-match winning streak and moved their record to 14-12.

St. Henry has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Fort Recovery on the 1st. Cincinnati Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
