Football Recap: Bigfork Starts Season with Defeat on the Road + How To Watch

Bigfork kicked off their season on the road on Friday and hit a couple of potholes. They came up short against the Frenchtown Broncs, falling 28-7. The Vikings & Valkyries were not able to make up for their loss to the Broncs from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

Cole Schmit threw for 75 yards and one touchdown. Ryeln Rodriguez was his top target, picking up 38 receiving yards. On the ground, Tayden West rushed for 59 yards on only seven carries.

Cole Johnson went supernova For Frenchtown., rushing for 161 yards and one score on only 14 carries. Those 161 rushing yards gave Johnson a new career-high.

Bigfork wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 52-0 victory against Corvallis on the 5th. As for Frenchtown, they have also already played their next game, a 37-6 win against Columbia Falls on the 5th.
