Volleyball Recap: South Central Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact South Central can now relate to. They lost 3-0 to the D.H. Conley Vikings on Thursday. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Vikings this season, with their most recent defeat being a 3-0 loss back in September.

The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-15, 25-13.

When it comes to explaining why South Central lost, don't look at Gabby Mattison. Despite the final result, she had seven digs and seven assists.

D.H. Conley was led to victory by Faith Mitchum and Paige Money. Mitchum had 13 digs and three aces, while Money had 14 digs and four assists. Mitchum is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in each of the last three games she's played. Riley McGalliard also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

South Central's defeat dropped their record down to 13-12. As for D.H. Conley, they pushed their record up to 24-2 with the win, which was their 14th straight at home.

South Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for D.H. Conley, they have already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Chapel Hill on the 25th.
