Recap: Trinity Lutheran Cougars vs. South Decatur Cougars
The Trinity Lutheran Cougars were the 81-49 winner over the South Decatur Cougars when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Trinity Lutheran fell to South Decatur 50-45. Trinity Lutheran has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the loss, Trinity Lutheran had strong showings from Bailey Bonde, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and two blocks, and Jordan Brewer, who scored 14 points along with two steals. That's the first time this season that Bonde pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Marley Warren, who scored six points along with two steals.
Trinity Lutheran's defeat dropped their record down to 10-10. As for South Decatur, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 13-9.
Trinity Lutheran will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Greenwood Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. Greenwood Christian Academy is hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses. As for South Decatur, they will head out on the road to square off against Batesville at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
