Recap: West Carrollton Pirates vs. Xenia Buccaneers

The West Carrollton Pirates waltzed into their match Saturday with two straight wins but they left with three. They walked away with a 43-35 win over Xenia. That result was just more of the same for these two, as West Carrollton also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2022.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead West Carrollton to victory, but perhaps none more so than Selena Frost, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds. The matchup was Frost's ninth in a row with at least ten points. Cydney Grigsby was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with six rebounds and four steals.

West Carrollton has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. As for Xenia, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Carrollton will take on Stebbins at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Stebbins focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Saturday. As for Xenia, they will be playing at home against Fairborn at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Fairborn is hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses.
