Basketball Recap: Whitesboro Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when Whitesboro faced off against Ponder on Tuesday. The Whitesboro Bearcats received a blow as they fell 56-38 to the Ponder Lions. While losing is never fun, the Bearcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 761st, while the Lions are ranked 186th).

Whitesboro's loss dropped their record down to 10-16. As for Ponder, the win was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 23-4.

Whitesboro has already played their next matchup (against Pilot Point), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Ponder will challenge Valley View at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Ponder's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last seven contests.
