Softball Recap: Woodbridge Find Success

Woodbridge proved they can win big last Tuesday (they won by ten) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the South Brunswick Vikings, sneaking past 7-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Barrons have posted since April 22, 2024.

Madelyn Brenner spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and four unearned) runs on ten hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Gia Allan, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Giavanna Pedde, who scored a run while going 3-for-4.

Woodbridge's win bumped their record up to 2-0.

Looking ahead, Woodbridge will hit the road for the first time this season to challenge Union at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for South Brunswick, they will take on Nottingham at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
