Basketball Recap: Holly Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Briley Seufer and Allison Rushton

Holly was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a 48-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of the South Baca [Campo/Vilas/Pritchett] Patriots. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wildcats of the 45-28 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February.

Allison Rushton and Briley Seufer certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Rushton posted 12 points, while Seufer went 6-for-12 en route to 12 points.

Sarah Elmore was a one-woman wrecking crew For South Baca [Campo/Vilas/Pritchett]. as she shot 50% from the field on her way to 24 points and eight steals. Elmore's evening made it six games in a row in which she has scored at least 17 points. Another player making a difference was Jaden Grigat, who dropped a double-double with ten points and ten rebounds.

Holly's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Coming up, Holly will challenge Manzanola at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. As for South Baca [Campo/Vilas/Pritchett], they have already played their next matchup, a 77-23 loss against Springfield on the 6th.
