Basketball Recap: Seacrest Country Day Starts Season with Victory Against Grandview Prep

Seacrest Country Day had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Grandview Prep Pride 62-59. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Stingrays have posted since December 20, 2024.

Seacrest Country Day's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Brady Barnaby led the charge by shooting 50% from the field to rack up 20 points in addition to five boards and three steals. That's the most steals Barnaby has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Hayden Fuller, who dropped a double-double with ten points and 11 rebounds.

Seacrest Country Day wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 78-53 victory against Southwest Florida Christian on the 18th. As for Grandview Prep, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 61-49 win against Park Vista on the 21st.
