Basketball Game Preview: Eastgate Life Academy vs. North Georgia HomeSchool Tribe

Having just played yesterday, Eastgate Life Academy will jump right back in to play the North Georgia HomeSchool Tribe at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

On Thursday, Eastgate Life Academy ended up a good deal behind Friendship Christian and lost 70-52. Eastgate Life Academy has struggled against Friendship Christian recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Despite the defeat, Eastgate Life Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Grayson Mayfield shot 4-for-7 from downtown and dropped a double-double with 27 points and 11 boards. Mayfield is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down nine or more in each of the last three games he's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Elijah Miller, who shot 63% from the field en route to 10 points and eight boards.

Meanwhile, North Georgia HomeSchool came up short against William & Reed Academy on Tuesday and fell 58-50.

Eastgate Life Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for North Georgia HomeSchool, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.
