Basketball Recap: Quay Jackson Key Part of a Team Effort in Tigers Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Luverne, McKenzie was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They came out on top against the Red Level Tigers by a score of 51-42. While McKenzie didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-12), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

McKenzie got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Quay Jackson out in front who posted 14 points along with eight steals and five rebounds. The dominant performance gave Jackson a new career-high in steals. Devin Covan was another key player, putting up nine points along with seven boards and six steals.

McKenzie's victory was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-3. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.3 points per game. As for Red Level, they are on a 12-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-14.

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the McKenzie Tigers challenge the Opp Bobcats at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Red Level, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Georgiana at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
