Basketball Game Preview: Canutillo Eagles vs. Hanks Knights

Canutillo is 1-9 against Hanks since January of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Eagles will be playing at home against the Knights at 7:30 p.m.

Canutillo managed to keep up with Eastlake until halftime on Tuesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Eagles came up short against the Falcons, falling 51-31.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Hanks, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They took down Chapin 42-28 on Tuesday.

Canutillo better focus on containing Emery Puga and Avah Diaz as the pair were huge in Hanks' win. Puga posted 12 points and four steals, while Diaz put up 13 points. The dominant performance also gave Diaz a new career-high in assists (three). Melanee Martinez was another key player, putting up three points and four steals.

Hanks is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 4-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.4 points over those games. As for Canutillo, their loss dropped their record down to 5-3.
