Football Recap: Standish-Sterling Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Standish-Sterling was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 48-22 to the Clare Pioneers. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan football rankings (they are ranked 341st, while the Pioneers are ranked 126th).

Despite the loss, Standish-Sterling still got an impressive performance from Joel Bellor, who rushed for 133 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only seven carries, and also threw for 68 yards and one TD. Rylee Blanchard helped out on the ground, rushing for 100 yards.

Standish-Sterling's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Clare, their win bumped their record up to 4-2.

Standish-Sterling didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 43-0 defeat against Ogemaw Heights on the 10th. As for Clare, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 40-14 victory against Shepherd on the 10th.
