Baseball Recap: Cumberland County Find Success

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Cumberland County ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 victory over the Adair County Indians. For the Panthers, this counts as revenge for the 10-6 win the Indians walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2025.

The team relied heavily on Braden Pedue, who went 2-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run.

The victory made it two in a row for Cumberland County and bumps their season record up to 15-19. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 4 runs in those games. As for Adair County, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 16-20 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cumberland County will challenge Warren East at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Adair County, they will square off against Monroe County at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Indians' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Falcons have averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season.
