Basketball Recap: St. John Bosco Academy Comes Up Short

After flying high against Varsity Opponent two weeks ago, St. John Bosco Academy came back down to earth. St. John Bosco Academy was beaten by the Lanier Christian Academy Lightning 52-18 on Tuesday. St. John Bosco Academy was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 29-5.

Ella McDonald was St. John Bosco Academy's leading scorer, having posted five points. McDonald also led the team in rebounds with eight.

Lanier Christian Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Adelyn Gough, who posted ten points and six rebounds. Gough continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Julianne Roberts was another key player, putting up eight points.

St. John Bosco Academy dropped their record down to 1-3 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Lanier Christian Academy, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-2.

Looking ahead, St. John Bosco Academy will look to defend their home court on Friday against Fideles Christian at 6:00 p.m. As for Lanier Christian Academy, they will take on New Creation Christian Academy at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday.
