Softball Recap: Shadyside's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Three

It was a proper cat-fight when Shadyside challenged Frontier on Friday. The Tigers' pitcher stepped up to hand the Cougars a 1-0 shutout. The victory was familiar territory for the Tigers, who have now won three games in a row.

The result came thanks to Ariana Saxton's shutout, as she gave up just three hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Kaylie Warnock, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season.

Shadyside now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Frontier, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 12-1.

Coming up, Shadyside will welcome Beallsville at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Frontier, they will take on Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
