Softball Recap: Lafayette County's Victory on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Lafayette County had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. Everything went their way against the Lexington Minutemen as they made off with an 11-3 victory. The Huskers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Minutemen, too.

Lafayette County's win bumped their record up to 7-4. As for Lexington, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-4.

Coming up, Lafayette County will square off against Holden at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lexington, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Knob Noster at 5:00 p.m. The Panthers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 16.5 runs per game on average), something the Minutemen will no doubt try to take advantage of.
