River Road hasn't had much luck against Bushland recently, but that could start to change on Monday. River Road will look to defend their home field against Bushland at 4:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Bushland will be up against a hot River Road team: the squad just extended their winning streak to five. Everything went River Road's way against Canadian on Friday as River Road made off with an 11-2 win.

Ava Sharp made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out 17 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. Those 17 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 4-for-4. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ashlynn Ferris, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Isela Delgado, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.
River Road lost a few balls and finished the game with four home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Bushland entered their tilt with Dalhart on Friday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. They were the clear victors by a 19-3 margin over the Wolves. That's two games straight that the Falcons have won by exactly 16 runs.
Brooklyn Briano tossed a big game, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits.
At the plate, Piper Francis was a standout: she scored four runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. Charley Spinks was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI.
Bushland pushed their record up to 13-10 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.8 runs over those games. As for River Road, their victory bumped their record up to 17-9.
Monday's match might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. River Road has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .488. However, it's not like Bushland struggles in that department as they've averaged .489. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
River Road might still be hurting after the 11-1 defeat they got from Bushland in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can River Road avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
