Football Game Preview: Cranston West Falcons vs. Cranston East Thunderbolts + How To Watch

A classic East v. West matchup is on the schedule. After both having extra time off, the Cranston West Falcons and the Cranston East Thunderbolts will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday. The timing is sure in Cranston West's favor as the squad sits on four straight wins at home while Cranston East has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.

Cranston West heads in on the heels of a playoff matchup last Friday. They took a hard 28-14 fall against La Salle Academy. The game snapped a strange streak: the last six times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

Despite the defeat, Cranston West saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jon Leroux threw for 323 yards and one TD, and also punched in one score on the ground. Those 323 passing yards set a new season-high mark for Leroux. A healthy portion of Leroux's aerial production (82 yards to be exact) went to Ethan Parent, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

Meanwhile, Cranston East and North Providence were almost perfectly matched up last Saturday, but Cranston East suffered a 35-34 loss.

Cranston East's defeat dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Cranston West, their loss dropped their record down to 7-4.

Everything came up roses for Cranston West against Cranston East in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, as the team secured a 47-0 victory. Will the Falcons repeat their success, or do the Thunderbolts have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
