Basketball Recap: King Abdullah Academy Takes a Loss

After flying high against Trinity at Meadow View last Thursday, King Abdullah Academy came back down to earth. The King Abdullah Academy Falcons were beaten by the Fairfax Christian Cardinals 102-74 on Saturday. The Falcons were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 59-38.

Fairfax Christian's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jeremiah Stanford, who went 9 of 14 on his way to 27 points and six boards. With that strong performance, Stanford is now averaging an impressive 15.5 points per game. Frank Siaca Bey was another key player, dropping a double-double on 16 points and 17 rebounds.

King Abdullah Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 5-13. As for Fairfax Christian, they now have a winning record of 11-10.

King Abdullah Academy will square off against Dominion at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Fairfax Christian, a feisty cat fight is on tap when the Fairfax Christian Cardinals take on the New Hope Academy National Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. New Hope Academy National knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven games -- so hopefully Fairfax Christian likes a good challenge.
