Basketball Recap: Happy Camp Takes a Loss

Happy Camp was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 51-14 loss at the hands of the Butte Valley Bulldogs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 61-20 back in January.

Despite the loss, Happy Camp still got an impressive performance from Ededa Rose, who posted four points and nine boards.

Even though they lost, Happy Camp smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since the start of last season.

Kohen Thomas continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Butte Valley, going 5-for-9 en route to 14 points along with five rebounds and five steals. Thomas is becoming a predictor of Butte Valley's success: when she posts at least three steals the team is 9-3 (and 3-4 when she doesn't). Another player making a difference was Khaily Hensley, who scored ten points.

Happy Camp's loss dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Butte Valley, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season.

Happy Camp has already played their next contest, a 46-34 win against Big Valley on the 14th. Butte Valley has also already played their next match (against Hayfork), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
