Baseball Recap: Florence Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Florence put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They put the hurt on the Mitchell Marauders with a sharp 18-8 win. The Huskies have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Marauders, too.

Ayden Jennings was incredible, going 4-for-5 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in RBI. Brenan Lambert was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

Florence was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .519. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .478 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.

Florence's record is now 3-0. As for Mitchell, their defeat was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Florence will welcome Sierra at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Mitchell, they will face off against Rocky Ford at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Mitchell will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
